According to Auto Motor und Sport, BMW will add two new small cars to slot below the current 1 Series by 2014. One of those vehicles has already been publicly confirmed by the automaker, the Megacity, an urban commuter BMW is developing as a dedicated electric car. The powertrain technology will be an evolution of what was shown a few weeks ago in the ActiveE concept at the Detroit Auto Show.

The 2011 Infiniti M officially goes on sale next month, and in addition to boasting higher performance numbers and a sleek new exterior design, the EPA has officially released some relatively impressive fuel economy numbers for the new sedan. Both the six- and eight-cylinder Ms benefit from technologies like continuously variable valve timing, and the M56's 5.6-liter V8 uses direct injection to aid in better performance as well as improved efficiency.

Green racing fans rejoice! Porsche has just unveiled its 911 GT3 R Hybrid, a 480 horsepower track vehicle ready to rock the 24-hour Nurburgring race this May. Porsche’s latest supercar will use the same 911 production platform available to consumers today, with a few race-ready features including front-wheel hybrid drive and an innovative flywheel system that stores kinetic energy from braking and then uses it to provide a 160 horsepower burst of speed.
